The Michael J.F. Tompkins scholarship is held annually in Michael Tompkins' memory. The University of Guelph awards this to the best undergraduate essay written by an honours English student. R. Buckle's LARGE-CAST MANAGEMENT & THE HUMAN STORY was nominated by her screenwriting professor and won in 2023.

Shortlisted in the seventh annual competition hosted by UK-based publisher Hammond House, R. Buckle's THE LIBRARY was carefully crafted to the contest's theme of 'fate.' The screenplay follows a college student exploring a library where books record a person's life, and after a sudden accident, she discovers their ability to rewrite the past. Placed amongst the top 9 finalists, R. Buckle is honoured to compete with other brilliant storytellers from across the globe.
