short story  |  05.23
There was a blue moon the day I died. Snow hugged the city's sleek buildings and its crystals glistened under the sparkling sky. The moon painted the land in azure light.
This ghostly, hypnotic story follows a coffee shop owner in a mysterious city when an unnaturally blue moon hovers above. As snowflakes freeze in the air and hundreds of blues blanket the glossy white streets, a fluffy orange cat appears at her doorstep, and a bizarre message comes from her departed sister. The city alights with cries of joy, and the protagonist races through its labyrinth, desperate to see her sister one last time. Rebecca's WHEN THE STEAM FALLS pulls the reader into a dreamlike experience as they witness the final moments of a city before its stories cease to exist.
WHEN THE STEAM FALLS is available for viewing. A second part written in a poem format serves as an epilogue to this story. It is also available for viewing under the title TOMB CITY.
